The first reported Bigfoot Sasquatch sighting in the area by European settlers occurred in 1886.  One of the most famous sightings occurred near the Klamath River in 1967 in which a few seconds of movie was filmed.  In fact, the Klamath River corridor is ground zero for Bigfoot Sasquatch sightings.  More sightings have occurred in this area then anyplace else.

Klamath River Resort Inn is a great place to stay while on vacation or doing research.  Although we have not seen Bigfoot ourselves, Many times we have walked or hiked in the local forests and have gotten that primordial chill down the spine or hair standing on the back of the neck due to a instinct that we were being watched.  It may have been a deer, mountain lion, or even a bear - but what if it was something more....I have also experienced being followed down the river by a black creature which may have been a bear - but may have been a Bigfoot. I did not see it clearly.  I was kayaking down the river when I heard this big noise in the brush up the side of the hill above the river.  I caught the glimpse of something black jump behind denser brush.  As I paddled by, the black creature followed me for about 5 minutes before it stopped - I kept going...

Many of our clients on our kayak rental trips have also reported seeing not only bears - but also what they assumed at first glance was a bear but was very elusive and moved in the brush along the river more like an ape.  Our kayak rental trips are through the "Cade Mountain Canyon" stretch of the Klamath River - one of the Happy Camp areas with the most Bigfoot sightings.
